My name is Dela and I’m a natural hair enthusiast!
I first became natural in 2003 when I transitioned from relaxed to natural. This lasted for about for about 2 years. I failed miserably and went back to a relaxer.
In 2011 I was pregnant with my 3rd child and I was heavily into learning about natural hair. I was desperate to soak up any information that I could having failed the first time around. I watched hundreds of YouTube videos, read books and invested in products.
When I was 8 months pregnant I decided to do the big chop and cut off all my hair (twa). That was the start of a very steep learning curve.
I learned how to take care of my natural hair from the ground up and was able to grow it to almost waist length.
In October of 2020, I decided that I wanted to loc my hair and continued my natural hair journey with 2 strand twists.
I have enjoyed every single part of this journey and as I continue to learn more about natural hair, both as a loose natural and a loc’d natural I can’t wait to share it with you all.
